In addition to a great range of feature films and short films, as with the first Celludroid event's District 9 cast & crew appearance,
this time around a very special guest will fly in for CELLUDROID - expatriate director, anthropologist, esoteric scholar & writer RICHARD STANLEY
(aka The Nagloper - translated: The Nightwalker)
Stanley is the maker of the cult favourites HARDWARE and DUST DEVIL. He will screen his movies, speak with the audience,
and introduce his fascinating new book SHADOW OF THE GRAIL aftre the screening of his related documentary THE SECRET GLORY.
The festival has been expanded to incorporate an extensive retrospective of Stanley's work, also including documentaries and short films.
THE NAGLOPER vs DR. MOREAU will have Stanley take on THE ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU remake, which he spearheaded,
but got replaced by the studio. He will be pulling no punches!

This screening will kick off the CELLUDROID Film Festival.
	VELOCITY GRAPHIC ANTHOLOGY LAUNCH WEDNESDAY 6 JULY, 7pm The official Cape Town launch of this stunning South African / Australian collaborative art & story-telling anthology will happen at CELLUDROID 2011. Copies will be on-sale. Some of the artists will be in attendance. Something Wicked will also be present. 	THE SECRET GLORY aka: The Secret Glory of SS Obersturmfuhrer Otto Rahn THURSDAY 7 JULY, 8:30pm WEDNESDAY 13 JULY, 4pm “Stanley manages to conjure up the vision of a grand quest, which began in the 13th century and hasn’t lost its alluring power” - Oldenburg Film Festival (The Thursday 7 July screening will be followed by Richard Stanley's discussion on his closely related new e-book SHADOW OF THE GRAIL). Combining rare archival footage, old letters and photographs to tell the story of Otto Rahn (1904 – 1939), who worked in the Occult division of the Nazi hierarchy, Rahn was convinced that he knew where to find the Holy Grail and, after being nominated as an SS officer, he finally had the resources to pursue his quest. What he discovered remains as mysterious as his untimely demise in 1939. SHADOW OF THE GRAIL Magic and Mystery at Monsegur Through text and rare photographs this book tells the bizarre story of Otto Rahn, who believed the Montsegur castle was key to a priceless treasure and was employed by the Nazi SS to find it, or die. We learn about the mysterious cult of the Cathars, who were massacred there in the 13th Century, and their warrior priestess, Esclarmonde, the ‘Light of the World’, immortal guardian of the Holy Grail. 	HARDWARE "The best Sci-Fi thriller since Alien" - Fangoria Magazine FRIDAY 8 JULY, 8:30pm MONDAY 11 JULY, 4pm In a post-apocalyptic future the wreckage of an unstoppable robot reassembles itself, wreaking havoc in a building complex. Richard Stanley's debut feature film features Dylan McDermott, John Lynch, Stacey Travis, cameos by Lemmy from Motorhead and Carl McCoy from Fields Of The Nephilim, and the voice of Iggy Pop. Soundtrack by Simon Boswell and songs incl. Ministry and Public Image Limited. The Friday 8 July screening of HARDWARE will be preceded by Stanley's short film CHILDREN OF THE KINGDOM.
	SEX GALAXY "Mystery Science Theatre 3000-style tribute to campy Sci-Fi romps of yore" - Get Out Magazine SATURDAY 9 JULY, 4pm MONDAY 11 JULY, 6:15pm From the producers of X Fest Best Picture winner Pervert! comes the world's first "green film", consisting of "recycled" cheesy and hilarious public domain movie clips to create a brand new spaced-out adventure (for adults only). Produced by Mike Davis.
	GODKILLER When free will is outlawed, only outlaws will have free will. SATURDAY 9 JULY, 6:15pm WEDNESDAY 13 JULY, 8:30pm This unique animated Sci-Fi odyssey has a boy searching the post-nuclear wasteland to find a replacement heart for his sister. Made like an animated graphic novel, this dark, thrilling and intense movie's violence, nudity and strong language is no kid's cartoon. Directed by Matt Pizzolo, featuring legendary voices like Lance Henriksen, Bill Moseley, Lydia Lunch, Davey Havoc (from the band AFI), as well as Tiffany Shepis, Danielle Harris and Justin Courtney Pierre
	DUST DEVIL He came from the beginning of time - to take their soul. SATURDAY 9 JULY, 8:30pm TUESDAY 12 JULY, 4pm A woman on the run from her abusive husband encounters a mysterious hitchhiker, unfolding a dark tale of demonic possession. Richard Stanley's follow-up feature film to Hardware was shot in Namibia & South Africa. Starring (future RoboCop) Robert Burke, Chelsea Field, Zakes Mokae, Rufus Swart. The Saturday 9 July screening of DUST DEVIL will be preceded by Richard Stanley's short film THE MOTHER OF TOADS, and he'll speak with the audience afterward.
	ATTACK OF THE MONSTERS aka Gamera vs Guiron SUNDAY 10 JULY, 4pm TUESDAY 12 JULY, 6:15pm Two kids enter a space-ship they discover in their Japanese neighbourhood. It takes off, transporting them to the planet Terra (on the opposite side of the sun) where sexy space chicks plan to scoop out their brains. Can the gigantic space turtle save the day?! 	CELLUDROID Short Films Volume I SUNDAY 10 JULY, 6:15pm WEDNESDAY 13 JULY, 6:15pm As with Flamedrop's tradition of compiling feature length collections of amazing short films for the HORRORFEST and the X FEST, this will be the inaugural compendium of Sci-Fi, Animation and Fantasy shorts from around the universe. These are not stolen on-line (as some may think a film festival is put together), but officially submitted by the movie-makers and production companies. Volume 1 will feature: R.O.A.C.H. 	RICHARD STANLEY DOCUMENTARY SHORTS: VOICE OF THE MOON & THE WHITE DARKNESS Double feature of two Ricard Stanley documentary short films MONDAY 11 JULY, 8:30pm VOICE OF THE MOON was shot in Afghanistan in the late 80’s, with some Mujaheddin rebels (& late war journalist Carlos Mavroleon), the film follows the people’s daily attempts to survive in a country being torn to pieces by the Russian invasion. During the shooting, Richard also encountered the Taliban. Originally made for UNICEF, the sound design is a mixture of Sufi poem and the incandescent music of Simon Boswell. For THE WHITE DARKNESS the BBC commissioned Stanley to film a Haitian segment for their documentary series Last of the Medicine Men, focusing on Voodoo practices. Wandering around the countryside and recording their observations, the crew witnessed at first hand that Voodoo, usually coined as re-animating the dead, is mostly about interacting with and being possessed by other world spirits, a tradition which has lived through the occupation and missionary eras and has just recently been acknowledged as a certified religion amongst others.

	INSIDIOUS It's not the house that's haunted EXCLUSIVE PRE-RELEASE SCREENING THURSDAY 14 JULY, 8:30pm From the creators of Saw and Paranormal Activity comes the dark tale of a family trying to prevent evil spirits from trapping their comatose child in a realm known as The Further. This screening will close the CELLUDROID Film Festival and will pre-empt the next X FEST Extreme Film Festival coming in August - www.XFEST.org Directed by James Wan, starring Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Barbara Hershey and Ty Simpkins (Official SA release via Nu Metro Theatres on 22 July)

Magic and Mystery at Montsegur

Special Richard Stanley talk on his book after the screening of his related documentary THE SECRET GLORY,

In the summer of 1992 Stanley travelled to the remote Pyrenean village of Montsegur and scaled the mountain to the enigmatic ruins of the castle
perched high on its summit. There he was trapped by a freak electro-magnetic storm. The ordeal set in motion a spiralling chain of events
that led Stanley on a twenty year quest to learn the truth about the castle and its secrets.
Through text and rare photographs this book tells the bizarre story of Otto Rahn,
who believed the castle was key to a priceless treasure and was employed by the Nazi SS to find it, or die.

We learn about the mysterious cult of the Cathars, who were massacred there in the 13th Century, and their warrior priestess, Esclarmonde,
